The Battle Against the Buffet. When you are attempting to avoid the temptation of the buffet table, try to start off with the 'good stuff.' First fill your plate with salad, vegetables, fruit, and fish, chicken and meat with little to no sauce. Then if you want the fried chicken wings, fried cheese balls, or sausage lasagna on your next pass, you will be less likely to indulge or at least to indulge less.
