Don't Wait On The Weights...Cardio/Aerobic exercise offers a lot of health benefits and many people rely on cardio to maintain their current weight or as an attempt to lose weight. But consider adding some weightlifting to your work out routine. Since muscle requires more calories just to exist, you can actually increase the amount you eat and not gain weight when you increase your muscle mass. Your body also gets conditioned better as you do lots of cardio, and so while the health benefits are great, you will likely start burning less calories as you become more efficient at it and your stamina improves. Adding muscle does not have to mean adding visible bulk. It is also about toning and adding strength to your endurance.
