Feed The Beast...Dieting is a word that we have all considered at one time or another. It is a tempting prospect for anyone who wants to lose a few pounds. Changing your eating habits is always a better option because it allows you to lose the weight slower but in a healthier manner and to actually keep it off. Remember that you still need to allow yourself a break once in a while. Changing your eating habits does not mean putting yourself on a permanent diet. If you eat a cookie on a diet, that fragile house of cards crumbles. If you eat a cookie while trying to improve your eating habits long term, then the proposed changes are not dead in the water. It is quite the opposite actually. I tell people to feed the beast on occasion and allow that desire to be satiated. You need a ying to your yang. If you need to eat a cookie or piece of chocolate to satisfy a hankering, then go for it. It may allow you to be more compliant with overall improved eating habits without feeling jilted or deprived. Just remember to keep the ratios in the right proportion and the weight will still come off.
