Weight Loss Is 99% Diet...I hear a lot of reasons why patients are not currently exercising...some of them valid and many repetitions of excuses I have heard from prior visits. But if your weight is your concern, then don't let exercise be a barrier. A healthy weight is almost completely dependent on what you eat and not what you try to burn off later. Building some muscle mass is always helpful for long term weight management, but a leaner body is a product of eating the right food, in the right quantity, at the right time of the day. You could spend an hour running on a treadmill trying to burn off the pasta or dessert it took you five minutes to inhale. Be smart and look at what goes in before trying to figure out how to get it off and out.
